Description
Built into the top four floors of an 11-story office building, the sleekness of Quest Diagnostics' new workplace is offset by warm design details. The project includes conference rooms, offices, and break rooms—all positioned along the perimeter to bring in natural light. Our design process began with a visioning workshop in the location of their new space—a generic 1980's office building. We walked the stakeholder groups through "Keep-Toss-Create" and "Image Association" exercises to gather critical information; this data informed a new set of design standards and created a clear direction for the design that reflects their ideal workplace culture. A new pavilion revitalizes the previously unused rooftop, and the new rooftop garden terrace offers social space with panoramic views to the Manhattan skyline. A connecting stair carves out a two-story atrium space capped with a skylight, which washes the space with natural light.
