MARK CAVAGNERO ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS, SAN FRANCISCO

PROFILE

Mark Cavagnero Associates Architects is a San Francisco Bay Area based architecture firm focused on cultural, education, and civic projects. Since its establishment in 1988 in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mark Cavagnero Associates Architects has completed a wide range of architectural and master planning projects, including large and small scale institutional, non-profit, commercial, and residential projects. Mark Cavagnero Associates Architects provides a full range of services, from programming, master planning, site planning and conceptual design, through construction documents and administration.

In the San Francisco architecture office of Mark Cavagnero Associates Architects, the design process begins with a careful investigation of the client's goals and the project site. These conditions generate all following steps. As a result, the qualities of program and site specificity, rather than pre-assumed tendencies, unify the firm's portfolio.

San Francisco Bay Area based Mark Cavagnero Associates Architects welcomes the constraints of program, site, and budget as frameworks within which to create engaging architectural spaces. It is in the focused response to these project elements that the essential character of each project finds its voice. The purity of response--in form, material, and relationship to light and context--is always the firm's goal.

MARK CAVAGNERO

Mark Cavagnero began his career in 1983 in the New York office of Edward Larrabee Barnes/John M.Y. Lee Architects, where he learned first hand the importance of clear and thoughtful design--ideas he carries through his work to date. In 1988 he co-founded Barnes and Cavagnero (later renamed Mark Cavagnero Associates) in San Francisco. Mark has developed an intentionally diverse practice including new construction and renovation of civil, institutional and private projects.
